About FAIA

The Food Additives and Ingredients Association is affiliated to the Chemical Industries Association and represents companies whose principal business is the manufacture and marketing of food additives and ingredients.

The organization promotes better awareness of the role additives play in modern food. Key initiatives have included the booklet The Chemistry on Your Table (1985) and the educational project Understanding Food Additives (1998), produced in collaboration with the University of York's Chemical Industry Education Centre.
